Author's story

Hi, long time no see.

Or, maybe this is our first meeting.

My story is not ordinary, but it is not special either.

Let me start by looking forward to us writing a story together.

Our life is a journey in search of our hometown.

In hometown, there are places of memories and traces of memories remain.

Hometown may not be immortal, but at least the fact that it is home does not change.

From another perspective, life is a story.

We get moved, happy, sad, and angry when we hear other people's stories.

We only get one chance to write our own story, and that makes it all the more precious.

Finding your way back to your hometown and returning proudly is the ending of the story.

It may fail. It's just a sad story. Tragedy is beautiful.

When I was young, I was exposed to a lot of space opera.

I wanted to travel through space like a character in a movie, and I spent my time drawing blueprints for spaceships.

This is probably still stored somewhere at home.

As I went through school, I realized that was impossible. That's why it was fiction.

Instead, I tried to make it my career to 'build' rocket engines, quantum computers, and electronic circuits that still had a sci-fi feel.

This was still a wonderful dream for the future.

One day, I learned about Alcubierre's warp drive. This was unbelievable.

In order to implement science fiction technology, physics was first needed to explain its principles.

The physics explaining warp drive was quantum gravity, the most profound thing in physics.

I wondered if I could study quantum gravity.

This is a field that geniuses take on, and because it is impossible to measure, it exists only in imagination.

There are more paths that have a higher chance of achieving happiness and success.

But I realized that my heart's home is warp drive.

If I give up and go down a different path, I will regret it for the rest of my life, like someone who lost their hometown.

The goal is to prove that space opera is not just fiction.

Majoring only in physics will not be enough.

I took several majors to learn and judge everything I needed to know on my own, and received low grades in many subjects except physics.

But it's okay. I studied topics I didn't learn well over and over again.

Now, almost three years after entering university, I have accumulated more knowledge and experience than when I entered college, when I only knew a little about general physics and calculus.

I started this blog because I felt ready to organize my understanding.
